’s Essential Mix! Do it.

If you are a music lover, and particularly a new music lover, you should check out what has to offer.  They are giving a free link on their website to download 15 free songs off of iTunes until October 31, 2010.

Here’s how it works:

Just click the link! That was easy, eh? (Follow the download directions)

Now scroll down and take a look at all the artists being offered up.  There are the more well-known band such as Arcade Fire and the Gorillaz, but there are a few hidden gems in here as well such as Kidstreet and Black Mountain.  You do indeed have to download all 15 songs, there is no picking and choosing but trust me, this is a good thing.  If you are too lazy to go to the link, here is the list of artists and songs:

Arcade Fire – Ready To Start

Black Mountain – Old Fangs

Broken Social SceneTexico Bitches

Crystal Castles – Celestica

Delorean – Stay Close

Fol Chen – In Ruins

Gorillaz – Rhinestone Eyes

Kidstreet – X

LCD Soundsystem – I Can Change

Meligrove Band – Halflight

Sia – The Fight

Stars – Wasted Daylight

Surfer Blood – Swim

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists – Even Heroes Have To Die

Tokyo Police Club – Boots of Danger (Wait Up)

Most of the songs are pretty decent, with the better ones being by Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Surfer Blood and Tokyo Police Club.  The weaker songs, in my opinion, are by Fol Chen, Gorillaz (really weak song), Delorean and Crystal Castles, but you may disagree!  Just not really into the major techno scene, I guess…

Either way, download the tunes and give them a chance, you’ll find they may grow on you!
