Happy New Music Tuesday

Bon Iver's self-titled album, to be released June 21st

Good day all!

As you may or may not know, Tuesday is one of the days of the week I look forward to the most as it’s the magical day when (for whatever reason) new music hits the stores, both online and in reality.  Also, it’s “free download” day because iTunes usually has a new free download of their “Single of the Week” on their store homepage and then a completely different song called the “Pick of the Week” which is available at Starbucks.  (Oddly enough, I can’t seem to find the “Single of the Week” on the iTunes homepage… quite odd)

Also, you can now purchase Bon Iver‘s new song Calgary on iTunes, and his new album will be released June 21.  (You can also get his new tune for FREE here: http://boniver.org/

Remember Seether? Well, they’re back, for all you hard rockers out there who may care.  Their new album is out and titled Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray.  Bonus: There’s 16 songs on the album, and it’s only $9.99. Deal!

Last week was the release of a a few major albums:

  • Sam Roberts Band release their fourth studio album, Collider
  • Sloan released their latest album Double Cross (and it’s been getting rave reviews, if you’re a believer of what you read)
  • Ben Harper released an 11-song LP called Give Till It’s Gone
This week, for the hipsters and folk rock music lovers, Chad VanGaalen released his latest album, oddly titled Diaper Island. If you’re looking for something a little different, I highly recommend Mr. VanGaalen.
And last but not least, the debut of the unusual collaboration between Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi, Rome is fully released today. Oh yeah, and if you missed my last blog post on this album, it features Norah Jones and Jack White on vocals. No big deal..
Oh, one last thing. Do yourself a favour and check out the Daytrotter session with Wintersleep here: Wintersleep on Daytrotter.  You’ll probably thank me later.  If you don’t, well… you’re welcome anyway.
Until next time!
