Want 10 Free Songs from iTunes? Just buy a Frappuccino.

Some great news!: (pardon me if I’m a little late on the draw)

You all enjoy music, right? That’s kinda why you’re reading this blog post, no? Well, for a limited time beginning June 06, 2011, Starbucks Canada is offering a free 10-song summer playlist when you purchase a Frappuccino blended beverage.  The catch is… well there really isn’t one, except that you need to buy a beverage to receive the download card that has an iTunes code on the back. Oh, you also need to have iTunes downloaded on your computer and/or smartphone.

So do you have all that? Then what are you waiting for?

I suppose this all begs the question: is it really worth it?

Well consider that you can buy the cheapest, smallest Frappuccino and still get the 10 free songs off iTunes. So you’re paying about $3.50 for $10 worth of music.

I’d say it’s a good buy.

The other question, and probably the most important one, would be, “What songs are on this 10-song Summer Mix?”.  Good question, here they are:

The Airborne Toxic Event – Half of Something Else

Booker T. Jones (feat. Biz Markie, Matt Berninger & Sharon Jones) – Just a Friend

The Dears – Thrones

Fleet Foxes – Battery Kinzie

Okkervil River – Rider

Parts & Labor – Rest

The Rural Alberta Advantage – Under the Knife

Tennis – Marathon

We Are Augustines – Chapel Song

Young Galaxy – We Have Everything

This is an indie rock haven, and if you’re into that sort of thing you will find yourself in musical valhalla after listening, I’m sure.  There’s a little bit of everything from the vast and ever-expanding “indie” genre, even with a little hip-hop from Biz Markie.

So consider yourself “told”: visit your local Starbucks, buy a Frap, get free music. Good music.

Do it. Trust me.
