Vancouver Indie Music “Tweet-Up”

As I sip the not-so-sweet nectars of yerba mate through my bombilla on this beautiful Sunday morning, I’m listening to Circuital, the new album by indie rockers My Morning Jacket and preparing mentally for what’s sure to be an entertaining afternoon.

You see, there was an idea floating around via the Twitterverse a few weeks, maybe a month ago, regarding arranging a bunch of great local musical folk with musical enthusiasts and having a beer.  Well, since the spawn of said arrangement, it has blossomed into something of a musical BBQ picnic on the beach with ukuleles and hand-drums and folks from all walks of life: bands, artists, bloggers, photographers, groupies, media folk.

The musical aspect of the day may or may not include such folk as Redbird, Portage & Main, Crossing Lions, The Ruffled Feathers, Katie Schaan, as well as some impromptu jams which I’m hoping to possibly take part in. But not getting my hopes up.

Either way, if you are in the Vancouver area this afternoon and want to come down to Spanish Banks between 2pm-5:30pm for some food and music, check out the Facebook Event page here and come down, say hi, eat, listen, laugh.  Rumour has it that there may even be some bocce and frisbee.

See you there!
